Of these children, approximately one in twenty requires the specialized medical expertise of a pediatric ophthalmologist (Eye M.D.) to avoid permanent loss of vision. The Matt Leinart Foundation has pledged $500,000.00 over the next five years to fund the new Children’s Hospital at Banner. Banner Children’s Hospital reassures a frightened child in a hospital and his or her anxious parents more than the comforting touch of an expert’s hand—especially when that expert is able to see through the eyes of that child. We understand the unique needs of children, and provide kid- and family-friendly care in our emergency departments, outpatient centers and in hospital rooms.
